King Charles lll prayed in the Vatican's Sistine Chapel alongside Pope Leo XlV recently - the first British Monarch to pray with a pontiff since King Henry Vlll broke away from the Roman Catholic Church in the 16th Century. The King hailed the "joining of hands between the Catholic Church and the Church of England" as a celebration of ecumenism. They were joined by the Anglican Archbishop of York, Stephen Cottrell, and the Roman Catholic Archbishop of Westminster, Cardinal Vincent Nichols.
